Best news in years

For the last couple of years I've had the ferals from hell living next door. Two and a half years of hell with constant screaming of obscenities fights, drunken parties, constant appearances by the local constabulary and 2 years of no rubbish collections. About September last year after many complaints from neighbours the council dropped off a 10 metre skip so they could get rid of the rubbish piled up in the back yard. Last week another skip (5 mtr) turned up and was filled with more rubbish including an old fridge, clothes dryer, couch and two chairs. Today when I got home from work the curtains (bed sheets actually) were down and a lot of scrubbing was going on. Apparently they have had their mortgage on hold for over a year and the bank has had enough and ordered them to clean the place up and sell it :hpydans: :ohyaaa: :hpydans: :ohyaaa: :hpydans: :ohyaaa:. I think you can plead hardship/opt for interest only, there are quite a few options if you are genuinely struggling with your mortgage. Banks generally don't like to foreclose on a mortgage unless there is no other option.

Apparently they're moving to his mums place, must be karma :p. I'll try and find out where the mum lives and give youse a heads up. These people remind me of about half a dozen redneck jokes.

You know you're a redneck when your wallet and your dog are on a chain.

.....................................when your two year old has more teeth than you.
.....................................when you walk your eight year old to school because your both in the same grade.

And one especially for them.
......................................when you use the bedroom window the enter the house because the front door's been kicked in so many times it doesn't work any more (true story).

I was Grumpy John long before they moved in, the forum name ain't gunna change :rolleyes:.

Not meaning to rub it in but my good neighbours are in fact really great.

We pitch in and help as necessary, have a cool drink when it gets hot and a warm one when it gets cold - nothing regular, just happens from time to time. When they/we need to go away they/we keep an eye on the other's place.

I hope that your newies are similar - it sounds like you could do with it.

Good to hear that your neighborhood is on the up GJ!

Approx 60% of homes in our street are rental properties, however that said our next door neighbours have been entertaining if nothing else and they "own" their home??
Attempted suicides x 3, Police raids x 2, numerous other police and local council attendances. At one time 8 dogs and the requisite car bodies all added to the vista to say nothing of the residents themselves.
A lot can be said for 2 metre high fences, but still have to clean up their beer cans occassionally.
