if you should get a sparky to do your electrical work, a plumber to fix your water problems and a gas fitter to install gas appliances why are public allowed to buy all the relevant bits and pieces, do the job themselves and run the risk of prosecution, voiding insurance policies and at worst, killing someone???:?:?

At first thought it does seem a bit crazy but..............how many times have you known blokes do it themselves and have a tradesman mate sign off?
Often I'd rather trust myself. I've had to point out to a tradesman when his apprentice connected a pipe the wrong way round. We would have been in the #### literally if it had been let go.
Most of Australia would be living in humpies if we had to wait for a trademan with a slot in his order book.

Because the law only deals with installation or use of in the context of installation or repair. .
Other wise any body who had said parts, objects etc would require a license to possess. This would included Bunnies and all suppliers and no doubt the manufacturers to boot.
