Macrocarpa outdoors

Hello. I am about to install a macrocarpa support post to a deck of my house. I want to protect it and not let it weather. I am not looking to colour it as I want to enhance it's natural grain effects. Can anybody recommend a product that will do the job. Thanks.:D
