How to repair Miniwax Wipe-on poly protected surface?

Just stripped this coffee table and then applied 3 layers of Mini wax wipe on poly. I read where it can be used to touch up on floors but no explanation how.:no: If you have a damaged area would you lightly sand, clean and then go through the same process of applying, drying, sanding and applying wipe on poly again?

Silly thing is I didn't read the section on the tin that says "Interior Use Only" I just went straight to the instructions bypassing the sales talk:doh: It will sit on the veranda under 3m of roofing so I hope it will be OK.:-
