has anyone else noticed that windows has turned into a big winger.:((:((:(

i cant do anything without it complaining.

i dont care if my phone has just connected (how dose it do that on its own?)
i dont give a flying fig that stan has jsut loged in.

That's true.
I've had a Mac Mini for sometime but it got very little use other than running an astronomy package.
After the death of my main system (Linux based), I needed to get my Internet fix while waiting for spare parts (video board) so I started to use the Mac more.
If all you're interested in is browsing and email, it's a no brainer. There are also a lot of software packages available for the Mac, not something that is always true for Linux
Now the Linux system is back on the air, I'm still using the Mac for playing videos and for organising photos.

I don't run any Microsoft operating system as Linux (or the Mac) looks after anything I want to do.

Keep complaining! Winders 7 is only worse.

weisyboy, as Bob38S & snowyskiesau said, try a Mac. Even better try a flavour of Linux. You can run linux on the same box that you have Windows on, flipping between the two until you've gained confidence with the new OS.

Google Linux Mint or PCLinuxos.com, download & burn to a standard CD. These two OSs are very very user friendly for people used to Windows.

When you have burned the iso onto the CD simply pop it into your CD/DVD player & reboot the computer. When it fires up follow the prompts & you can test run the new OS without affecting your existing Windoze instalation in any way. After your test drive, power down, remove the CD, power up & your back at Windows.
Yep, slight learning curve, same with a Mac, though nobody was born knowing all about Windows, you had to learn. If you give it a fair go, you'll never go back.

Yep, that the gates bloatware, I will sticking with XP Pro for some time yet. But if you get really peeved off. Go check out XPLite on the net XPlite and 2000lite Uninstall Windows components.. With this you can surgically carve up XP and get it running like a sleek racing machine.

I have used it on Win98 and it was superb.I cut out IE and a whole lot of other stuff, sped up the OS amazingly. :2tsup:
