private certifiers

I need a frame inspection for an extension that has been on the go for a few years now.

I live in Sydney (Blacktown council).....wondering if it would be better to use a private certifier or the council themselves.

I think the council charge about $600 for all inspections including occupation certificate. but if you use a private certifier they charge you $500 for the certificate.

Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated.
