Raising the Ceiling

I have an existing timber framed brick veneer home with a truss roof & cement roof tiles. I intend to replace the tiles with colour bond and am considering raising the existing ceiling height (currently 2400). Is it possible to do without replacing the entire frame? (i.e. Can you sister onto the existing frame?).
