Alan's neighbourly help

Alan stepped outside his front door and saw his neighbours wife being attacled by 6 men. Alans wife came out, hearing all the noise. She saw her neighbour fighting for all she was worth. She yelled out frantically to Alan," Aren't you going to help"?
Alan looked over to where the battle was taking place and replied "No I think 6 of them should be able to manage ok. but if it looks like she is getting the upper hand, I'll give them a hand.
