Arched Doorway

I've been reading this forum for ages but finally have a reason to post. I have an internal arched doorway that I'd like to square off. The span of the doorway is about 1.5m and it is supporting about 90cm of double brick above it. The arch is made of rough cement blocks which I plan to remove. I searched the archives and couldn't find any threads dealing with this sort of job so I'd be keen to get any thoughts on how best to proceed with this task.
