Merbau decking advice deperately needed?

Not sure if I have found the right place to ask advice, but here goes. I am after advice about finishing/treating merbau. I have just finished building a deck of about 28sqm out of merbau.Timber was not used or otherwise weathered - straight from the store and laid. I am reading a lot of conflicting advice about what to do now - ie wait for a few weeks before oiling, wait six months, or oil it now. Also not sure what to do about cleaning before oiling. I am clearly a novice! Deck has been getting wet from rain and tannins are running out, but half the deck is under cover. Any advice on my next steps would be gratefully received. Don't want to bugger it up at this stage, because right now it is looking great
