This could be embarrassing but it's show time

Hi all. Looking for feedback on 2 things.

1. How to build an external frame around steel

and

2. How to correctly build a window frame

With item 1 I have uploaded 2 photo's and would like feedback on if either of those approaches is correct or I need to do something else.

With item 2 I have uploaded 1 photo and would like feedback on if that is the correct way to build a window frame to house a double hung sash.
