support patio (photos attached)
Hi all,
I'm in the process of laying paving and so have ripped up all the concrete around my patio. I am very new to renovating and I have in fact never before mixed or laid concrete. I have been advised to put some concrete under the patio to support as it appears it was simply laid stratight onto the existing concrete slab. I''ve been told to make 6 holes about a spade width and depth under the wall and fill in with concrete. I have also been advised that the concrete needs to be quite sticky so that it can stand up in the holes.
My question is; How do I get the mix right? I'll start off using 3 X the bag pictured. Any ideas of ratio of concrete mix to water?
Also with the 6 X holes, should I dig them and fill all at once or go 2 or three at a time.
I really do not want this patio to collapse on me as I'm digging the holes so your advice is as always very much appreciated
Cheers
