Covering old painted gyprock with new?

HELLO OUT THERE
I wish to cover some old painted gyprock with some nice new gyprock,can anyone please recomend the best adhesive to use.I am leaving the old on in order to sqeeze in another layer of definition into some hallway architraves while i have the opportunity.
