Base coat or multipurpouse compound ?

hi guys i have a small question to ask. i am about to start platering the joints in the plasterboards for our extension,. i was wondering if i can use the multipuouse compund (gyprock) for tape coat, base coat and top coat? or is it better to use the basecoat 60 first and then use the multi purpouse just for top coat ?

i find the multipupouse is easier to use than the base coat.
