Pool pergola height??

I have built a deck 9m long 2.4m wide off a retaining wall along my pool which has paved surrounds.
I plan on building a 2.4 m wide by 4.8m long pergola and after suggestions on the height the trussed roof should be. I have initially set my verandah beam checked into my post the bottom at 2.1m with a 240mm beam giving a ceiling height 2.34m is this a bit high given the width ratio of the deck. It looks a bit odd when I put the post up.
