Hi,
My name is Tom.
I am almost obsessed with tools, materials and DIY, which of course includes woodworking. I am currently working as a handyman, which like any job worth having, gives me an excuse to buy any tool under the sun.
For two years I was working as an informal apprentice for a man named Peter Wilson who was courageous and knowledgeable enough to start building a 15 metre long two storey houseboat. Peter was an incredibly intelligent, creative, thoughful, capable, modest and friendly man. He taught me many things, but probably most of all he inspired me. Unfortunately he died last year.
I hope that my posts on this forum don't ever offend anyone, or anyone off. I probably talk too much relative to my knowledge and experience, and sometimes I have a wierd way of phrasing things that might make me seem like a pompous wanker. I am really passionate about the sharing of information and the community that can be built around shared interest. I hope that, as I get more set up with my buisness and get more free time, I can build something and show the progress of that to all of you.
Thank you, collectively, for all the things I have already learnt from reading your posts.
Thank you,
Tom.
