I am trying to finish a Jarrah table top with Minwax Wipe on Satin. It looks fantastic from a distance but when you get down close to it (particularly under lights) you can see streaky wipe marks that are sort of milky looking. You can also see in some places where I have lifted the rag.I tried to photograph it but it doesn't show up
I am applying using an old cotton Tshirt, allow 24hrs between coats , sand with 1,000 grit, wipe off dust with turps rag.
Same process as I always use, first time this has happened:?
Any suggestions?

dirty rag? stained t-shirt? ingrained soap in the material from the last wash before becoming a rag, colour washing out with the sprit based product?
Not the wood,
Not the finish,
Not the finisher,
Not the rag,
Room temp. <10, >30
Humidity. >80%
what else could it be?

Did you use Minwax® Pre-Stain Wood Conditioner ???

Steve, it could possibly be the finisher:roll:
Gretsch'em, No never heard of it.
Anyway after a bit of experimenting, White Spirit worked as a thinner, turps didn't.
Cotton bed sheet worked better than cotton t-shirt.
