Carl, you could try:
Border Express - Albury based services Brisbane 02 6022 6000.
Greenfreight - Wodonga based services Brisbane 02 6056 5122
Have used both at work and they seem OK
Good Luck:D

Carl,
From my limited experience you have gone above the 'courier' companies and into the pallett type freight. Toll handle all types of freight and would be worth a call. An alternative is to phone Mills Transport of Murwillumbah (02 66722177) who run Brisbane to Sydney and see if they can contract some one to get it from Wagga to their Sydney depot. As you are not an account customer with either company it won't be cheap.

There is a subbie out of East Wagga who does daily runs to Sydney, cant remember his name though sorry, my young bloke was driving for him in his holidays too earn some extra bikkies, mostly does Air Freight for one of the big companies ,he might be worth a try.
Next time I'm talking to him I'll ask him his name.

you might try getting them to quote you a price to their depot in brisbane instead of out to your place (if you havent already done this) that is if you have the means to pick it up there of course. Worth ringing around the furniture removalists to see if they have any work coming up to Wagga and get backloading rates. Have you rung Wagga Wagga truck companies? use the yellow pages on the net for their numbers, slow but works.

I was just browsing through and read about your delivery woes. SWMBO and I just purchased a machine weighing 160 kilos including the pallet and standing at 1.2 metres high. It is a specialised machine and very fragile.
We bought this machine from Dandenong (Vic) and had it transported to Dirranbandi (Qld).
All up cost was $600.00 with a journey from Dandenong to Melbourne then to Sydney. From there it was transported to Archerfield, Toowoomba, St George and finally to Dirranbandi. Yes, we tracked it every inch of the way due to the cost of the mongrel and the fact that this (used) machine is very difficult to come by in Australia.
I'm sure this is useless information by now, but if it is any help, I can supply the name of the original company if it's not too late.
