"Give a man a fish; you have fed him for today. Teach a man to fish; and he
spends a lifetime in the tackle shop buying lures and talking about the best
colour and shape lures and the best steel for the hooks and sharpening the
hooks on his lures. And doing very little fishing. But isn’t the point to go
fishing?!

Here’s some links to some ancient/old timber craft done before power tools and
hss steel. If I start spending more time buying the latest lures and working out
how to sharpen them to the n-th degree and less time making things – someone
give me a kick in the head!

LoL Mic - I get the impression from these forums that the same phenomenon happens to woodworkers ie they spend a lot of their woodworking time shopping for new, better, bigger tools. Every now and then they actually buy something.

It sure happens to renovators - personally I really resent having to actually do the work becuase I'd much rather be out perusing tiles, kitchens, bathrooms, building products in planning for my project.

Cheers
