View Full Version : Repairing worn bathroom sink counter top

Hi all,
The counter top in my ladies bathroom has been seperating at the joins.

And along the seperated joins it looks as if the finish has work away.

Any suggestions as how I should go about preparing this for repair.

Do I need to sand the entire top ?

Or can I sand over and around the damaged area and finish from there?

Depends on the type of finish mate, but really I have found that in this situation it is best to refinish the entire thing again (properly this time though hehe). Also if the timber has stained, then goodluck removing the stains...Sometimes its easy, sometimes it hard or impossible...
Cheers!

Hi Shane,

I just found out that it was finger nail polish remover. So the wood has probably been water damaged.
