...and yet another question...

i think there are a couple of regular Gimp users here, otherwise software would probabl;y have similar process to help with my question...

...so

when i'm doing a transparent gif image, lets say for example some text, like a logo, (it's on a transparent background so the webpage will show through later) and i want to add a blur affect of something to soften it, or maybe a gradient, this is all easy and not a problem, but when i go and save it as i gif i need to convert to indexed or it won't save, whent i do that, any filters or whater that i have applied get removed ???:(

any suggestions...

It may be that your effects were applied to the background layer.

When the image is indexed it probably deals with the background in a special way.

Try using your layers and make sure you apply your effects to layers other than the background layer.

Maybe this is the answer.

Can't say I have ever had this particular problem.
