Hi, after reading the joke in the Joke forum it reminded me of a recent mobile phone scam that is very tricky.

I recieved a text message, saying that this person would be ariving late from Heathrow airport due to late departure. Then asked if it was still ok to be picked up at the later time.

It all seemed that the text was harmless and obviously sent to the wrong number.

Most decent people would text back and inform them that the text was sent to the wrong number.

However if you did you would be charged an inflated price for sending the text like 1900 numbers.

I have now recieved 3 similar text messages. Beware and don't be fooled.

Cheers.

I recall a phone call on my mobile last year.

I didn't recognise the number but answered anyway ..... it was some bloke, the voice of which I didn't recognise but that didn't worry me ..... we carried on with small chat for a while ..... he asked what I was upto so I just said I was at work etc ..... it got to a stage where I couldn't ask who it was ..... in the end I had set up for a meeting at the pub after work .....

I never did work out who it was ..... but I often wonder how long he was waiting in the pub for his friend. :D
