You can use one of the photo compression programs that are around.
I use this freeware one called Easy Thumbnails.
Get it here:http://www.fookes.com/ezthumbs/?Easy%20Thumbnails=2800

When you use the 'Manage Attachments' button, which is down the editing page a bit, it gives the option to upload from your pc, or from a website. This will automattically put thumbnails into the post, which link to the photos. You will need to make your photos a suitable size first, and keep them less than the 100k limit.
There are lots of tools available for resizing, such as Irfanview, which are free. If you are running Win XP, then I would reccomend getting Resizer, which is part of MS Powertools. You can get this here http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx
It's on the right menu, about halfway down. Once you have it loaded, all you have to do is right click your imag, and select Resize from the popup menu. I use it for all my photo uploads to the forum, as its easy and very efficient.

Rod,
IrfanView is nice and easy to use. If you reduce the standard photo to 500 x 375 pixels, and use JPEG format you'll get a file size of 96Kb which is about the right size for posting.
