View Full Version : ANZ bank?

The poor old ANZ has been sending me emails asking me to sort out some issue with my internet banking because someone is stealing my money. They even provide a really nice link to what may be a very nice site but I wouldn't know because I haven't been there. They're getting quite frantic now the poor dears. Pity I haven't had an account with the ANZ ... ever :D

There's also a Commonwealth Bank scam going around as well - funny, I usually only get one or two spams a week but this week has turned into a bumper crop. Guess an email address has got onto a list somewhere. Interestingly, they're using an address I have never used.

Come on Daddles, send the poor chaps in Nigeria some money, they must be getting peckish by now with the Nigerian scams cover blown.

I got the Comm bank one too about 3 weeks ago, even though I dont bank with them

I've had all three at least 1/2 a dozen times in the last week. They must be getting desparate for their customers to log in and considering I've never had an account with any of them.

I suppose they only need one every now and then.

I used to just delete these emails but recently I fill in an account number randomly generated and password having conotations of bovine faeces, in the hope that they think they've caught a live one. The wish is probably futile as the scam is likely to be automatically handled - but one can only hope!!!

A friend of mine works for a computer security company which had access to one of the servers hosting this "service". He claims that people do fall for this. A few dozens each day...
