How to Train a Cat

Our young daughter had adopted a stray cat. To my distress, he began
to use the back of our new sofa as a scratching post. "Don't worry,"
my husband reassured me. "I'll have him trained in no time." :rolleyes: :rolleyes:

I watched for several days as my husband patiently "trained" our new
pet. Whenever the cat scratched, my husband deposited him outdoors to
teach him a lesson. :o :o

The cat learned quickly. For the next 16 years, whenever he wanted to
go outside, he scratched the back of the sofa. :mad: :mad: :mad:

My wife had a cat before we met. and i always thought they were dumb critters being a dog owner myself(4 siberian huskies). but i don't mind this cat it sits when told, begs and does other tricks including shake hands. Now if asked before i met this cat i would have said bull #### but no it is possible to train the cat !!

No joke!, but of course you can't herd cats.

I have the misfortune to be married to a pedigree cat breeder. Daughter also caught the malady, in fact she caught it first.
Son in law started early on training kittens from about 8 weeks old to play "fetch", using a brightly coloured pipe cleaner.
Some of our our own kittens and cats have had this training. Its quite a good party trick, but can be tedious, as some of the cats want to keep playing long after I want to stop!!.

How to train a Cat

1. Find medium sized stick.
2. Catch cat.
3. Throw stick into river.
4. Throw cat after stick, with housebrick tied to neck, shouting "Fetch puss"
5. If cat returns with stick, it is trained. If not, catch another cat then goto 1.

When that bastard was still living in this house. He scratched the cedar door when he wanted to go out. 2 minutes litter he scratched it again from outside cos he wanted to came back in.:mad:

lets face it cats, along with indian mynah birds, goats, camels, wild pigs, buffalo etc are VERMIN. cute and cuddly but VERMIN.

put em in a cage or let us HUNT. :D

When in Darwin with the Navy, many years ago, one of the lads discovered that the best bait for mud crabs was - you guessed it - the local common-or-garden moggie. That was the last anyone saw of a cat in that Navy base!

But seriously we did 'em in humane-like. .22 cal breakfast then into the freezer. Wait 24 hours then run 'em through the shipwright's bandsaw. Makes 2 baits that way.

Mmmm.....Could be the origin of "Meeoooooowww".
