View Full Version : a request to Ele_13 and others

Zed

Hi,

Not sure if this has been covered before but can I request that the font of general discussion is made into something more palatable ?

Ele_13 I respect your decision to use hot pink BOLD at font size 7 million but I find I dont even read your posts as its too hard too look at. Im sure there's others out there that ignore hard to read posts....

perhaps use the exclamations and large texts etc for specific comments like "FARK OFF Zed!!! Mind your own business!!" would be more appropriately used...

why be ignored ? surely the purpose of text is to communicate..........

your call. not my intention to offend or enflame or pick on Ele in particular....

Namtrak FUNNY BUGGER. :D

Zed - Good call Monkey Boy. You are not the only one to have a dislike Ele_13's choice of font size and colour I have actually had emails from members complaining (not you). So far have said if she chooses to bring attention to herself in that way then so be it.

Strange that it has taken so long for someone to mention it in a post. People come on here and bleat about "purple circles", "redies", "greenies" and all sorts of other colours, so why not "hot pink". It just seems like the natural progression of things.

We have had a couple of people literally drummed off the forums because they TYPED LIKE THIS, one poor old bloke who had trouble seeing his screen and what he typed was set upon by a dozen people enraged that he would actually come onto the forums shouting LIKE THIS AT PEOPLE. He copped a hell of a pasting for it and will probably never return.

It is Ele_13's choice and like it or not we should respect that choice, even if we think it is the wrong choice. Otherwise we will have the dogooders on here saying that we are discriminatory and wanting pink banned from the forums because it is politically incorrect or even worse still insisting that all posts (or at least 50% of them) are made using big hot pink type.

Just gotta say Zed, thanks for opening up yet another can of worms mate.

Cheers - Neil http://www.ubeaut.biz/banghead.gif

PS As a rule I wouldn't buy into a post like this.... However, I am also not a fan of the big pink stuff and would prefer to see it gone, if only of pure aesthetics.

Gotta agree with Zed, as he said definitely not picking on Jules but I find it a bit irritating to read & tend to skip over those posts as well.

I find reading this forum like reading a book, the easier on the eyes (for me, anyway) the better.

Free world tho' so do what pleases you, this post just in the spirit of honest feedback.

Regards & cheers...............Sean

No probs Neil, You're welcome.

for the record :

1) My original post was not a roast of Ele_13.
2) Any worms need opening here - happy to oblige :D
3) I am on a quest for more rep points :D thus the topical post (2 greenies so fart :D :D :D )
4) for the record - I have never complained about :
a) greenies
b) reddies
c) purple circle
d) other members (except to tell 'em to "farck off" - midn you thats usually done vocally, publically, in jest.

I personally feel it is VERY insensitive of Zed to complain about the size of a ladys' pink bits! I am shocked and not a little stunned...

Jules - This would be even more better and would leave you somewhere to go when you actually do have a point to make.

Typing in this style is almost the same as SHOUTING which isn't really acceptible on any forum or bulletin board anywhere in the world.

Had it been a bloke that typed his posts that way he would have been jumped on from the beginning and pulled into line or told to nick off almost immediately.

I really am surprised that nothing has been said openly before this.

Cheers - Neil :)

But he had no trouble reading our replies and totally ignored the very helpful advice on how to make his computer show all posts in a larger font. Which you would do if you have trouble reading the screen.

Personally I think he was just pig headed and could'nt or wouldn't find the caps lock button to turn caps of.:D

why dont we try this:

1. allow only one choice of font, size and colour
2. disband the purple circle
3. get rid of greenies and reddies

then we could all sit around and talk about ........ ummmmmm.......Woodwork????

No Peter, he'd been a hard worker all his life and had very large hands, so it was easier for him to type big letters!

Just saw the Optus ad with Zed in it. i noticed that Zed's fingers were too large for the keyboard and i reckon that is one of the issues that were troubling him so much so that he started this thread about big letters.

Absolutely no problem to me - write what ya want anyway ya want as far as I'm concerned. If I don't like it I wont read it - it's funny how freedom of choice works like that.
