Hi all. Retired now down here on the Peninsula. Finally built a garage/workshop after decades of putting up with much smaller jerry-rigged working and storage spaces. Could be bigger but hey I'm a pig in poo now. Have already started establishing with storage racking and by finally sorting tools. Now I can find them! First job was to repurpose some very old 3 x 300 x 75 Oregon beams into a workbench top which may prove to be a bit soft but worth the fuzzy feeling of reusing that beautiful timber. Finished with BLO. Restored and mounted my father's old wood vice too that had been wrapped in cloth for decades. Came up a treat. Got pretty good at wet stone and angle tool for the spokeshave, chisels and planes but looking at sharpening systems now. Will post up a question or two after my searches turned up quite old threads. Looking forward to all the good info here.
Cheers Peter
