My local Vintage Cellars has a deal on imported Grolsch at the moment.
It's a gift pack of 4 Grolsch swingtops and two v. nice glasses for $16.50.
As the swingtops are usually around $7.50 each this is pretty good value I reckon.
This is on in the Sydney stores until the end of November.
Don't know about the other states of course.
Cheers

I remember the days when a trrue Aussie would throw imported booze down the sink. Now we are bombarded with all sorts of stuff....but those Coronas are nice. My son got me onto them. But what has happened to the good ol' aussie boozer who'd drink nothing but VB? Is he still here ?

True story, I wouldn't lie to you.
A couple of months ago, we had a few blokes working for us, as regular viewersa would know, this is unusual, I only employee people on a seasonal basis. Anyhoo, after a coluple of weeks the job was finished, we sat around a table whilst I made out the payments for the work. We handed each of them a Crownie to drink, as is the custom. two out of three couldn't get the tops to screw off, no matter how hard they tried, one of them asked if they were left handed thread.
I think these pass as VB swilling individuals.

If there is one thing engineers can do, it's get into beer.
None of the big stable's produce a beer that is worth dinking.

There is a restaurant up this way that charges $12 each for them but they will let you take the empties home to store your wood oil in.

Yes, his name is Len and he's my wife's brother.
Actually, we're drinking VB at the moment. Won a case in the meat raffles last week. I prefer Old if I'm drinking supermarket beer but VB is OK.

So that's what you do with them.
I was wondering what use to put the empties to. They seem too good to go in the recycling bin yet I don't want them to end up gathering dust in the shed either.
Any other suggestions for the empties?
And no, I'm not into home brewing.

Chuck 'em at the neighbour with the noisy blower. Give him something to clean up.

Give them to Zed for Brendan or to Wongo for for Emily but carefully wash them out firstly.:)

They aren't bad for home made sauce... the Grosch bottles that is! Coopers is the beer for me, a Paley hits the spot reeeaaal well. Sparkling is nice too but you have to sell the mother in law to the GranGrow fertliser folk in order to be able to afford it.

Yep, Tooheys Old or Coopers old with 1.5kg of Malt Extract, ferment for 2 weeks, bottle, stand for 2 months and go for it.
Magic brew...........

Kegs are the way to go, and there is no trail of empties so the misses doesn't know how many you have had. I like the coopers kits but the cascade spicy ghost draught is a nice drop. :D

My oath. Converted a chest freezer into a fridge by replacing thermostat. Holds 2, 18 gallon post mix kegs nicely. Currently have a gun to pour, but waiting for my BIL to bring me a font and tap to mount on the D
As for brew, if ya like Coopers Sparkling, try Deliverence Bitter, an Aussie Stee-pac (malt, hops etc that is steeped in hot water then added to brew) and 1.7kg Light liquid malt extract. It makes 23l but I split it between the 2 kegs. I get it all from T.W.O.C. Brewing Supplies in Bibra Lake.
BEAUTIFUL :):):)
