200 litre barrels are usually 600mm +/- what I am hoping to find is a drum/barrel at least 1m diameter, length ?? and also flat ends...

Have you considered making it, the shape does not necessarily have to be a barrel.

yes it does need to be barrel tubular shaped. and needs to hold a decent wet weight and I only want one or two so not worth visiting a manufacturer

Hi Tony, if you gave us an idea of its intended use, it would be easier to help you. Are you planning on growing Barramundi????
Have you thought about using a rainwater tank????
1500 Litre Round Rainwater Storage Tank - Bushman Tanks (http://www.bushmantanks.com.au/water-tanks/1500l-round-rainwater-tanks)
1500 litre unit is about 1.2m diam there is a smaller one 1000 litre is about 850mm diameter. If height is a problem quite possible to cut it down and refit the top.

nosey lil burga eh? :D :) Ive had a metal compost tumbler for years and love it, but being metal time and age is catching up so looking for something similar. A std 200l drum on a stand just does not produce the same results, being narrower it cannot hold as much therefore does not breakdown the same.
I woke up early hours this morning and had water tanks idea floating around.
