By no stretch of the imagination could I be described as a wood worker/carpenter or even chippie, I simply dabble and make it up as I go along. I have successfully built a timber framed shed because I got fed up with the heat and leaks with the metal one's.

Anyway, I'll be 72 in June and need a bit of advice, so I'll put my first post in the 'glue' department.

Cheers,

Peter.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "Peter".
There are quite a stack members around Brisbane and cross South East Queensland plus the rest of the country.....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork......
Cheers crowie

Thanks Crowie.
I'm now retired to Bribie Island with my long suffering wife. Seven years ago when we moved here it was lovely and peaceful, now it's getting busier and busier, but that's the luck of the draw I suppose. The only thing I've done lately is to cut off a rotten bottom of the front door where some genius fitted a draught excluder without painting it. Unfortunately I didn't think of taking pic's and it's all finished and painted now... sorry.

I went for a swim at Bribie in January while visiting family in Brisbane; yes it's got busier..
Remember driving up there as a kid and having to wait for the ferry to get across.

I was still in England then but we had a few ferries too. Woolwich in S.E London was my closest. Bribie ain't the relaxed place it was when we moved in. A real shame in seven short years to see such a decline.
