Gday
My name is Tom and i live on Kangaroo Island
My great grandfather was a cabinet maker and ended up with an old antique shop on Unley Rd in Adelaide so my Grandmas house is full of antiques. I always loved them when I was young and as I grew up I developed an appreciation for the craftsmanship and time involved in each piece.
Queen Anne, Georgian and Victorian furniture intrigues me the most. Hopefully i can produce my own work in these styles in the future. For now I'm working on more modern functional pieces for the house.
Slowly i've pieced together some tools for the job and i am honing my skills. Unfortunately work is pretty busy over summer and I fish whilst the weather is good so not a lot of time for projects.
For now i'm focused on organising the shed for more space and making a proper workbench with room to move around my work.
Looking forward to winter and spending a heap of time in the shed.
Cheers
