Hi All,

I just joined as I am looking for a place to ask advice when needed. I am a primary school teacher who has undertaken a university course funded by the department of education. Apparently in WA they are screaming out for Design and Technology teachers in high schools. So I have completed the woodworking basics, with metal work and plastics coming up over the next 6 months.

I was given a Lathe to practice on and have been building up my tools and workshop over the last few weeks to allow me to practice and become more prepared to take on classes. The wood working aspect has been in my family for generations, I was the late comer in the family and am looking forward to passing skills on to students.

Anyway that's a little about me, I look forward to learning from the many posts on here

Cheers

Welcome mate. I think you'll find lots of good advice here. You might also want to consider checking out the WA Fine Wood Work Association - we have members of all skill levels
