I just saw the video footage about Sonny Bill Williams and giving away his medal after the footy.
Young kid was crashed tackled running out to congratulate the players. security crashed tackled him (rightly or wrongly, this isn't about that).
SBW then helped the young fella up and after escorting him back to his parents took off his medal and gave it to the young bloke. You ought to see the look on the young fellas face. That will be something he will remember for the rest of his life.

Now to me that is a great act for a sports person.

Well done SBW. :2tsup::2tsup::2tsup:

And to top it off, SBW has been given another medal to replace it.

SBW copped alot of flak on Kiwi media sites.....quite undeserved IMO.

I became an Australian citizen back in February so watching the Wallabies getting smashed was heart breaking for me. That said the Wallabies were gracious in defeat and getting to the finals is in itself an achievement.

Rugby was the ultimate winner on the day. The two best teams making the finals, with the best team proving triumphant. This is how it should be, but often not the case. Nothing worse than to see some upstart get a lucky break and knock off the deserving team. As much as it pains me to say so NZ has been one of the greatest sides to play the game. The loss of many of their senior players will bring them down a peg or two. There are big shoes to fill and it will take some time to fill them. Australia should have the seniority next time that NZ enjoyed this series. All in all a great series.
