Hi everyone,

I joined a little while ago, but haven't gotten around to introducing myself. Having just turned 21, I have decided to actually try my hand at working in wood. I haven't done so since my Year 9 workshop class. I'm keen on learning to work in hand tools, and my toolbox is slowly growing courtesy of eBay (though sadly the bank balance dwindles).

If any of you happen to know of someone offering tuition or classes on the Gold Coast please let me know. Unfortunately those in Brisbane are a little far away and I'm hoping to find some hand's on guidance to get me started.

See you around

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum "tuscany".
There are quite a few members in and around the Gold Coast....
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP [Work In Progress] photos with build notes.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork..
Cheers crowie

PS - My I suggest that you add a few new threads in various sub-sections your are interested for the local Gold Coast blokes & ladies to help...
On the "dwindling bank account":
don't forget "'garage sales, decreased estates, clearance sales & the like"; often some of the older tools are as good or better than whats currently in stores.....
