Agreed. I'm a man of the modern age, and while I can do a bit of a guess at 6'4" or 1 inch, I refuse to think of what the heck 37/64th or 19/23rds are. :?

1.5mm, .75mm or .8mm are just nice.

Interestingly, I just bought a copy of an American Woodworker book and it used mm/cm/M, so maybe, just maybe, they are trying to change. I've also seen a few discussions in metric.

G'Day & Welcome to a top forum Jonesy,
You'll find a heap of helpful & knowledgeable blokes & ladies on the forum and for the most very willing to assist.
Make sure you show off your handiwork as everyone loves a photo, especially WIP photos with build notes.
Sometimes you have to work in imperial or the project won't work.
Enjoy the forum.
Enjoy your woodwork.
Cheers, crowie
