Shelac on EEE

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to seal a burl with shellac after it has been buffed with EEE or do I have to remove the EEE surface first.:D:D

:hmm: I think you have to remove the EEE first! You can use shellawax over it, but just normal shellac can't go over it! :shrug: What are you doing with the burl? :)

The paste in the EEE is a carrier for the abrasive.

If you have worked the paste in hard enough for it to melt properly then all you have is the abrasive which gets worked finer the more you work it..

With a burl you would have to make sure there is no residue left in the voids as this may deter any finish.

If done properly the shellac will stick to the burl ok.

Thanks guys, jim had the answer for me. I was finishing a burl for a clock and decided for a change to finish it with EEE to see the figure and give it a finer finish befor I apply the top coats.:D:D
