Mudgee, affected by floods?

Hi all,

We have been planning to spend New Year's in Mudgee wine region with some friends.

Does anyone know if Mudgee has been impacted by the floods? And the roads to Mudgee from Lithgow?

I haven't been able to find anything on the net, and someone told me the Mudgee info centre isn't open this week.

Try the Bureau of Meteorology warnings:

I would look up a hotel or motel, ring them and ask. Wont hurt.

Don't think it is now. We were up there a couple of weeks ago when it flooded, but access from Lithgow to Mudgee was OK. Minor flooding around the town, and some roads were cut on minor roads and north of Gulgong.
Water Info site shows the Cudgegong is falling and no rain, with no flood warnings u/s of Burrendong, so you should be OK.

Don't know where in Mudgee you're going, but if it's one of the B&Bs owned by Elizabeth, on the banks of the Cudgegong, as you come into town, you are looking at a great weekend. Chip & putt golf course, self-help vegie garden, animal farm, free-range eggs, friendly staff, enough food to feed an army and bikes etc. for the kids. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

Yep, that's the one Alex! I forget which particular B&B it is, but its one of their's, and it backs on to the Cudgegong River. Heading off early this afternoon and meeting friends up there.

Definately looking forward to it now!

Hey Alex,

This was definitely the best B&B (or any other accommodation) we have stayed in! We were in the Getaway Cottage which is the end one, closest to where you 'tee off' for the golf course.

We were there with 6 other couples and like you say, the fridges, freezers and cupboards were stocked with food! Along with the massive vegie gardens which gave us extremely good omelettes each morning.

We had a chat to Elizabeth who obviously enjoys doing what she does. We will definately be returning there, for sure.

Yes, Elizabeth let us have a look through that one. That one sure is a beauty! Not a detail has been missed, and the timber work is great too.
