yep, that's me.

I'm not a woodturner (yet) so for the most part I'll probably just lurk around, sponge up as much info as possible and make smart@$$ comments when I can to embarrass Skew.

If my semi daily visits to TTIT's page are any proof, I'm already completely in love with Australian timbers (and at least one of it's antiques.) So, hopefully I'll become more active in the forums as I learn the lingo.

My personal specialties are in GPS, road networks, and remote sensing (aerial photogrammetry, LIDAR etc).

Friendly and love to chat so drop me a line if you're bored.

hi there and welcome. my wife is Canadian, from the west coast and we visit her family each year for about 6 weeks. I love Canada but have not made it to the east coast yet am really looking forward to doing so.

I might have some questions for your Lady at a later point if it's cool with you. I'm looking into my options on how to get back to Australia for a longer period and my mind is starting to boggle with all the paperwork.

What can I say, I have to get back. There aren't any sausage rolls or Vegemite sandwiches here and the cravings are getting a lil out of hand.

Welcome to the forum and to Australia obviously there was some attraction here for you to want to come stay longer. It could be the beautiful timbers, our wool, Vegimite or warmer weather.

Hope all goes well with a return journey.

we could get vegemite there until a couple of years ago, thats the real reason for limiting to 6 weeks at a time now, cold turkey vegemite withdrawl, not a pretty sight.

LOML certainly would be happy to help if you have questions.
She is now something of an expert as at one stage of the immigration process she was given two days to leave or be forcibly deported, her travel agent had made a simple error relating to a visa. They did relent and extended the deportation order to a week, but there was then a several month delay in returning here.

Yeah, that's one of the many things I'm hoping to avoid. That and 'you make a mistake, your application fee is not returned'. Big deal when some of the Australian visas are upwards of $2000. I can think of a lot of better things that could go to.

Hi, and welcome to the forum. Loved our short visit to the west coast and the Rockies.

The Rockies are gorgeous. The east coast has more worn rolling hills. I was amazed when Skew and I went up to Queensland and mountains just stuck out of nowhere! Instant mountain is new to me. Common out East, I recommend our fall (late September to late October) the fall colours are amazing.

Oh Skew's got lots more stories about our exploits. I think I might have taken 3yrs off his life learning to navigate roundabouts.
