Wife has an Asus Notebook. Dropped it on the floor and the power coonection in the coner came adrift.

The piece is not available at any place except Asus and is expensive for them to fix. Took it to a computer place on Logan Rd. They said 10 daysand would have to get the part from Asus. But all up cost was $25 less than Asus.

Ten days, hadn't looked at it. SWMBO pleaded urgency, OK 3 more days. 3 days- not ready - based on the original quote that include a new connector.tomorrow.

SWMBO rings on the stated day to find out when she could pick it up.Much rudeness from the other end.Eventually went to pick up, paid the bill based on the quote that included a new connector. Then was informed thatthey hadn't provided a new connector but had glued and taped the old one.

SWMBO was furious, rightly so. Then more rudeness and the assertion that they had not quted for a new part. Unfortunately this quote was all done over the phone and we have nothing in writing. The people were again rude and arrogant.

All we can do is not to go near this lot again BUT_ now we find that the microphone doesn't work and the process to turn the thing on is different. WHAT do we do?

I had a rude reception there years ago and swore I would never go back. How do these people stay in business???

Thanks we have an ASUS and have found when contacting them the rudeness there.:~

Attitude seems to be the same when it comes to laptops they are a throw away item after just 12 months buy a new one. :((

There used to be a young fellow down here at the computer markets who made his $$$ and is now going through UNI sadly his attitude went out the window also he was renowned for getting them sorted.

Sods.

Go down to the shop, remonstrate loudly and say you won't leave and won't drop your voice til they do the job properly.

Asus was not the problem Wheelin. The shop in Logan Rd. was.

We checked on a couple of things told to Ana and the low mongrels lied through their teeth!!!

Unfortunately, if it aint written down, it didn't happen. I know it doesn't help now but in future when dealing over the phone ask them to send you an email confirming everything they said. If they won't put it in writing go elsewhere.
I don't think there is much you can do about it now, especially if you have already paid. Complain to the Office of Fair Trading or Consumer Affairs (not sure what the Qld equivalent is) but I've never heard of anyone getting a favourable result through official channels.
