Default Power point loc in kitchen

Hi all. I'm planing a reno on my kitchen. Probably a flat pack to reduce costs. My question is, to maximise the small amount of bench space avail, I propose to put the microwave under the drain side (in part) of the sink but I'm not sure if I can do this because of the power point for the microwave. In the attached photo, you can see the locaion of the sink and where I propose to put the microwave and power point. Under the microwave I plan to have a drawer. I guess it won't matter if the drawer is above the microwave rather than the microwave above the drawer. Sparkies, do you see this as complying with the Regs?

best bet would be to have the outlet in the cupboard next to the microwave, so you can turn it off without pulling it out of the shelf first.

Is your concern that the GPO is to be under the sink? They put them down there for dishwashers, so it should be possible I would have thought?

OBBob, please excuse my ignorance but what does GPO mean? Yea I wasn't sure if putting a power point on the right hand side wall under the sink drainer would be feasible. Basically I don't want to decide on the cabinets and appliance location only to find out later that I's not safe (legal) to put a power point there.

Sorry ... yep Genral Purpose Outlet ... power point.

You should check with an electrician but one may answer here? I'm not an electrician it was just my logic.

have put many an outlet under the sink, no worries there but plumbers aways seem to have the dishwasher tap pointing at the gpo ,lol, got into trouble a few times for overtightening the taps when i turn them the other way
